Put Your Paws In, Make a Splash
The young panda with fur or fluff,
large paws landing with soft thuds
on a mossy bank before splashing
into the cool of a sun dappled creek
a welcoming refresh, and the panda
plops down his bottom into the waters
which swirl gently around his fur,
paws submerged, he lifts them to splash
the cool water across his chest, on his face—
he sighs with contentment, leans back
refreshing his back head held above the water
kicking the water with back paws
in innocent wonder, patting the surface
and catching droplets in his mouth
a shower of fun in the soft gurgle of the creek
till a fish leaps high, his splashes outdone.
